Tuesdays: May 21, June 18, and July 9, 2013, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. The mobile office will be parked outside the Silver Lake Village Hall at 113 S First Street.

Conserving Trees
Kenosha County Tree & Shrub Program has been
offered for over 25 years and our office has sold nearly one million trees. The
purpose of the program is to encourage area residents to plant native trees and
shrubs for the purpose of conservation and wildlife enhancement. The program
offers a variety of pines, hardwoods, and shrubs. This sale is open to the
interested public in our area. Trees and shrubs are sold on a first-come,
first-served basis and picked up by the customer. Interested people are placed
on a list to receive our tree order form in the fall of the year. Tree pickup
day is typically in mid- to late-April the following spring. The number and
species of trees and shrubs is dependent upon availability, weather conditions,
past sales success, tree performance and general demand trends.

Dispose of Unwanted Medications Safely

Collection Hours at the Silver Lake Police Department – Mon – Fri (8am – 5pm) excluding Holidays

The Kenosha County Division of Health has recently implemented a program for safe disposal of unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications. The program was implemented to ensure proper disposal of medications that should not be flushed or thrown in the garbage, as well as to help reduce the risk of illegal use of these drugs. There are four drop boxes available in the area where you can dispose of almost any medications. For more information about specific disposal instructions and box locations, visit the Kenosha County Division of Health website. Please take advantage of this resource so as to ensure the well-being of our community and environment.

Concealed Carry Classes

Chief Dan Kingsley of the Silver Lake Police Department has announced that Firearms Training Officer Keith Kirwin will be offering CCW training classes in Silver Lake. Officer Kirwin willl be teaching the DOJ recommended 4 hr. classes. Interested persons or if you have questions can call the police department at 262-889-4100 or e-mail the police department at slpolice@biz.rr.com. Successful completion of this course will allow citizens to apply for a WI Concealed Carry permit. Cost is $75, or $60 if you are a resident of Silver Lake.
